Health Care in 2021: Ingredients for Change

Health care is a major issue going into the 2020 presidential election — nearly a quarter of Americans say it’s THE top issue, and the majority say they pay too much for health care relative to quality. The Commonwealth Fund and Urban Institute modeled options for coverage expansion that reflect the current debate between Democratic candidates. Simulations estimate effects on coverage, federal costs and national health expenditures. Regardless of which party wins the election, the window for major health care reform is the first six months when the new or re-elected President’s political capital is at its height.

Join us as David Blumenthal, president of the Commonwealth Fund, a national philanthropy engaged in independent research on health and social policy issues, shares the latest research on costs associated with health care reform proposals.
