Tackling health care's biggest problems is our top priority.
At Optum Labs we are building an organization that is designed to address the biggest problems in health care. We're not looking to make small changes. We're looking for the big changes, swinging for the fences. - We have over 160,000,000 peoples' medical claims, which is essentially a snapshot into their lives extending over almost 20 years. And in addition to that, we have 10s of millions of electronic medical records. They're all de-identified, but they're linked with that information. So not only do we have a story of their interactions with the medical system, but we also have a little bit of the story of their lives.
Today we have over 25 partners. What ties all of these different entities together is an interest in using information, but also using partnership, and finding a place where they can innovate. We work on cancer. We work on Alzheimer's disease. We work on addiction. All of those areas are very complicated. Crying out for a place like OptumLabs to make a difference. We bring together our partners. We give them data and then we attack those problems.
At the end of all of that is our quest to make people healthier. - We have built an organization. We've built a direction. We've built a reputation and we've built a promise. I am convinced that as we go forward, there're gonna be some pretty big things to come out of OptumLabs.
It takes more than data and focus to unlock solutions to health care's toughest problems. It takes collaboration with experts across diverse fields and industries working with complex health care data and advanced data science.
We bring health industry leaders across all sectors together to share ideas, and accelerate innovation and discovery.
Partners gain access to a world-class linked data set of de-identified claims, clinical and consumer information and the support to use it.
We use our experience with advanced analytics and data visualization to uncover actionable insights and generate new applications.
Health care intelligence
We are passionate about solving health care's greatest challenges. Deep health system knowledge sets us apart, guiding passion into action.
At our core is a rich, highly curated data set of over 200 million de-identified lives containing linked data from administrative claims, medical records and self-reported health information. This gives us real-world insights on individuals' complete health experience.
Pairing administrative claims with unique details on patient and health plan actual costs, demographics, health behaviors and more, researchers and innovators use our data to look at long-term trends and understand the value of care.
