Darshak Sanghavi, MD, is the chief medical officer and senior vice president of translation at OptumLabs.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Sanghavi was the Director of Preventive and Population Health at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation within HHS, where he oversaw the development of pilot programs aimed at improving the nation’s health care costs and quality.
Dr. Sanghavi was formerly a fellow and managing director of the Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform at the Brookings Institution focused on health care payment and delivery reform.
Dr. Sanghavi is an award-winning medical educator and has published numerous scientific papers. He has appeared on NBC's Today and NPR's All Things Considered, and regularly written about health care for the New York Times, Boston Globe and Washington Post.
Dr. Sanghavi attended Harvard College and Johns Hopkins Medical School, and completed his pediatrics residency and cardiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital Boston.
